|Lake Havasu High art students have gone to the dogs|
Two district employees (Michelle Ravnikar and Valari Rose-Johnson) are taking a leadership class sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce. The class is working to improve the visiting area of the Lake Havasu Humane Society. Ravnikar and Rose-Johnson asked Jennifer Hilbert, an art teacher from Lake Havasu High School, if she and her advanced studio art students could help by adding some color. The students were happy to offer their services. High School principal Kathy Cox gave permission for students to leave campus so they could do some of the work during school hours. Some students returned on the weekend to finish the project. One outside wall of the main kennel building at the humane society now has a mural of colorful shapes and animal images. If you get to the humane society at 1100 Empire Drive, please take a look. If you can't make it, we have provided some pictures. More about the mural...
