LHHS fashion design students win gold at FCCLA Nationals
Lake Havasu High School Fashion Design and Merchandising students Rebecca and Courtney represented the State of Arizona July 9th–July 12th, 2012 at the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America Nationals in Orlando, Florida.
Both girls earned gold medals: Rebecca in Fashion Construction Occupational, and Courtney in Fashion Construction Senior. They were judged on their construction skills, fabric selection, visual display, and verbal presentation which included questions from the judges.
Rebecca and Courtney both graduated from Lake Havasu High School in May. The combination of skills learned in Mrs. Strother’s Fashion Design and Merchandise program at Lake Havasu High School, their creativity, and character building as officers of F.C.C.L.A. prepared Rebecca and Courtney well for this competition.
Congratulations Rebecca, Courtney and Mrs. Strother. Thank You to Western Arizona Vocational Education Joint Technical Education District (WAVE JTED) for their continued support of L.H.H.S. Career and Technical Education programs and F.C.C.L.A.
